Automated and hydraulically operated equipment is where most refit programmes lose time. A door that will not close is rarely a door problem. It is a sensor, a safety circuit, a hydraulic supply or a line of PLC logic, and diagnosing it needs someone who reads all four. Automatic sliding doors
Automatic sliding doors and their associated mechanical, pneumatic and electronic systems are a specialist field in their own right. Most of the industry treats them as joinery with a motor attached. They are not.
Obsolete does not mean dead
Where a control system is no longer supported, the options are migration, replacement or a bridge that lets the existing mechanics run on current hardware. Which one is correct depends on the vessel, not on what is easiest to sell.
