YKing Marine is an independent marine technical consultancy and service company with more than twenty years of practical experience in the yacht and superyacht industry.
From Germany, 2002
Originally established in Germany in 2002, the company developed from a highly specialised technical service operation into an internationally active partner for yacht owners, captains, management companies, shipyards and marine contractors. Today YKing Marine operates internationally with a corporate presence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Florida, USA.
Assessment and execution
Our work combines practical engineering experience with independent technical assessment, quality assurance and project supervision. That allows us to support a vessel from a survey and consultancy position and also directly at the technical level, from fault analysis and system evaluation through modification, repair, commissioning and final acceptance.
Beyond machinery
More than two decades in the yacht industry has also produced experience outside machinery and automation: yacht interior systems, marine construction, ship architecture interfaces, technical outfitting, installation coordination and the integration of mechanical, electrical and interior components.
This matters most during refits and complex troubleshooting, where faults frequently involve several trades rather than one isolated system.
Standards and professional development
YKing Marine operates with a focus on documented processes, traceability, technical quality and continuous improvement. The company works within a quality management framework aligned with ISO 9001 principles.
Frank Borchert is a Senior Surveyor and Recognized Expert Member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Sachverständiger und Fachgutachter e.V. (BDSF) in Germany. That recognition complements more than two decades of practical experience in the yacht and superyacht industry.
Professional development and independent qualification remain part of the philosophy. Personal certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024 is currently in progress.

That independence allows a technical problem to be evaluated objectively and a solution recommended on safety, reliability, maintainability and long term value rather than on commercial affiliation.
